You have one class a day and it's one hour? What the fuck, why are you even pursuing higher education?

One supervised hour, you're obviously expected to do your own thing too.

What does this all mean? My average day has 2/3 lectures and a Lab and tutorial.

Have you all got separate rooms that have their own locks? Or just a load of open rooms?

Means you have 4 hours worth of stuff probably daily, although labs can be longer.

The landlord or whatever spoken to you about TV licenses? Apparently each room (as it's lockable) counts as a separate living area and requires a TV license. We only got one for the TV downstairs last year and not our rooms and almost got fined for it. The house next to us didn't even get checked mind. Just a warning, fucking annoying though.

Depends where we go. Learned quickly that it's a lot cheaper to pre-drink. Shots/vodkas are usually about £1 out, so we sink a few bottles/cans at the flat/house and just drink the cheap stuff out. Usually about £20. Including taxis/food as well.

Really? Nobody i've ever met has got checked for TV Licenses. How did you almost get fined? Through the post or an actual person?

Dunno, landlord didn't mention it so we didn't know. Apparently there's some law about rooms and locks and shit. Anyway, some guy out of the blue came round apparently and asked to check the TV's in the house and told us not every TV was licensed and we could be fined for it. I wasn't in, but they explained we weren't told about and he let us off as long as we all got one.
Not bothering to get another this year, barely used my tele anyway. Nobody else we know had anyone come round.

Dan, they don't have any power you don't have to let them in. They need to get a search warrant and they need to prove you actually use your TV to watch live feeds.

Fair dues.
Yea like Theo said, you don't need to let them in. Think they need to give you 24 hours notice anyway, so you can hide your teles.

Didn't know that. Seems quite pointless tbh. I wasn't in anyway, only found out when I got back from Uni.
Definitely won't bother with one next year then.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind paying it if it weren't so expensive. Costs about £150, and you can get about £40 off if you move back home during the summer, but £110 for watching TV is a joke when you've got barely any money.

That tv license things doesn't even makes sense to me. Not sure what they are stopping you from watching.
Sounds like some big brother shit.
