Worst regular penalty taker you've seen.

What I mean by this is, a player who regularly takes penalty kicks for his club or country and regularly misses them. So someone who doesn't regularly take them for his club, and misses one in a shoot out or something wouldn't count. Also, someone who is usually good at them and takes them often but misses a very important one wouldn't count either.

Anyways, the worst I've ever seen is Chucho Benitez.



Pretty sure out of the last 7 penalties taken he's missed 5. Need to check on that number but he's definitely missed more than converted.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed a fair few I can remember, also Messi isnt the best at them.

Jermaine Beckford made a hash of a few for us, most notably against Millwall in the play off semis. He could take them well though, scored a belter against Spurs with the last kick of the FA Cup game a few years ago.

Ronaldo who has taken 24 penalties in his time with Real, and he has converted 23, with a conversion rate of 96%!!

Oh, god, Javier Hernandez used to be woeful for Chivas. So much that we ended up having our technically deficient, bruising center back just try and smash them in.

Coincidentally, he was our top scorer last season.

Hernandez has improved a lot since then. Takes them regularly for his country now. Still makes me bite my nails in anxiety when he steps up though, just because I remember his Chivas days.

I can think of him missing 4, one he scored the rebound, one against West Ham, one against Barcelona and v Chelsea in the CL shoot out.

Lol but Ronaldo hasn't just scored more than he's missed, he's scored fucking loads..

Oh also, I thought Fabregas was a shit penalty taker at Arsenal, seemed to score them even when they looked awful though.

I know but it's hard to think of regular takers who miss penalties and he's the first that came to mind.

Okay Ronaldo has taken 38 penalties according to records and scored 34, 89 percent.

You know, I've seen Rooney miss a couple. Gerard too.

Maybe that's just me catching them on a bad day though.

Defoe at Portsmouth and a short time at Spurs.

Gerrard is a good penalty taker.. Rooney is most of the time but has had some dodgy ones, I don't always feel confident with Rooney.

All I can think about is Palermo missing those three penalties in a row but he couldn't have been that bad on other occasions.

Never thought Saha was a brilliant penalty taker, although I only really remember him missing at Celtic- his one against Chelsea for us wasn't great too. Wasn't there another Everton player who missed a fair few? (Yes I know Saha's at Sunderland now)

Defoe has converted under half of his penalties or something like that.

yeah but even the ones he scored weren't good penalties. By good I mean placed in a corner with decent pace.

Michael Owen was pretty poor at them.

Suarez's are poor. Kuyt was the best
