I came out of Anfield with a sore neck because off their hoofball.
Did you have a view similar to this?
that was exactly my view. rubbish! the stand behind the goal was renovated not too long ago too!

Should just get that cage and dangle it 30 foot above the pitch and pack it with Spuds fans and a wasps inside. Would be a right laugh.

Did you get any discount on your ticket? Must of had trouble seeing anything when your team attacked, what with fans standing up.

As much as Layor Road (Colchester) was a shit hole and falling apart the ground had great character and was unique. I prefer visiting their old ground to the new boring half empty plastic stadium. I could say the same about Cardiff (of course they needed a new ground).
R.I.P Layor Road and Ninian Park

It was a shithole of a stadium but was great place as a Colchester fan, holds many memories.CTFC~ced wrote:As much as Layor Road (Colchester) was a shit hole and falling apart the ground had great character and was unique. Bumped this thread as I was going to make it but realised it already exists.

I agree with this to be fair. In all my time going to Anfield, I've once sat at the back of the Lower Anfield Road and let me tell you, it's a fucking abomination and I never sat there again, in fact, I actually went over to the steward at half time and said, 'Listen mate find me an empty seat down the bottom right now because I'm not going back up there' I couldn't see the Kop end. He did as well to be fair, their was a few spare seats in the corner and he let us have them, I was with my mate at the time.
I was at the top, it had on the ticket severely restricted view, it was fucking boiling, no air conditioning. Your feet came off the ground when you sat down. And to top it off, the section was a 'supporters section' so I was sitting with a bunch of fucking loonballs from Kent 'Kent Reds'
It was literally a nightmare, worst 45 minutes of my life.
Any way on the subject of bad away grounds, I'd have to say Luton, went there when we played them in the FA Cup, shit hole to put it nicely.

I don't go to that many away games tbh......
Most are pretty good.....even with lower league teams........but Crystal Palace's is a shit view, shit seats.....and the security randomly chuck out fans . The view from the top where there's WOODEN seats is pretty shit too.

Southends away end wasn't bad but it was filthy for 1st game of the season, grit and dried mud all down the front of the stand walkway.

That's an embarrassment. You have to give it to the away fans for even travelling and standing in a thing that would be more akin to a school playground.
Anyway, Scottish football has a couple of dodgy ones, but I wouldn't say any are a disaster. Stirling wasn't great because I couldn't find the food stall from the standing section and it was also quite crowded, but I could still see the match in good enough conditions, which is what matters most. Many people say Morton have a bad away end because the fans are put in a relatively small end which is quite a distance away from the nearest toilets or food stalls. When that stand is full, the rest are put in the Wee Dublin End, which is out in the open. Basically, when it rains, if you stand there you find yourself getting soaked.
