I did press back but it didn't work.
Basically though, I just said that White people are blinded by White privilege so don't experience or see much racism so things that are pretty obviously motivated by racism are not very obvious to them or they don't see racist jokes or slurs or other things of that nature as much of a big deal.
Then I compared it to straight men and homophobia, we don't get bother that much when we are called fags and poofs and all those other slurs since we aren't gay, we've never experienced gay bullying and we'll never understand what it feels like to go through being a gay teenager in a homophobic environment.
I also compared it to misogyny and how a lot of us also feel that that is not a big deal for the same reasons.
Obviously went into more in depth.
