I bet their youth squad would have a decent go at that league too, if they've got any talent in there at all.

Exactly, you'd expect whoever they've got left to be able to compete 3 divisions below where they usually do.

You can see which have transfered if you look here, they're in bold.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newco_Rangers

There are some okay players there. I reckon they can easy rustle up a squad to get out of that league, then maybe improve a little bit next year if they need to.

Youth squad's been in pretty crappy shape for the past 4 or 5 years, according to a former Rangers youth coach.

If those players stayed, they bought some in if they can and bought players through from the reserves/youth team they'd be fine.

I just don't see how they'd benefit much from playing friendlies against division 3 teams. It's all about fitness anyway, pretty much. shifty

In that new Rangers article the guys in bold are basically commited to the team. Anyone not in bold could be back or not but I would doubt it. No chance Bradley or Edu stick it out even if they have not said no. I guess you cannot compare this to Juventus since this is a three division relegation rather than just one.

So it's a 1 hour and 16 bus ride, with one transfer and quite a bit of walking to get to Olympic Tuesday, and a 48 minute bus ride back, would get back around 10:30. Should I do it? shifty

Edit: Remember I'm at school etc. at the moment. shifty

It pretty much is, yes. But playing pre-season friendlies just helps you get used to game situations again and gets your match sharpness up to scratch before the season begins. thumb

Exactly, which means they wouldn't learn a lot from just playing division 3 teams.

Well fair enough, I don't agree with teams from the same division playing pre-season friendlies against each other anyway. But at this stage, friendlies against anyone would do as it's vital to pre-season preparation.

We played Sunday against the Royal Marines. It was played as three thirty minute periods. We won 3-0 with goals from Matty Harrold ( not worthy ), Joe Anyinsah and Chris Zebroski.

    Coleraine 1-0 Ballymoney United

Sounded like a very dominating performance and only for the visiting goalkeeper(s) excellence, we could of and should of won by more. Smile Trialist Mark Gillan seemed to play well again, along with my favorite player Owens and McIlmoyle and Harkin also played well.

Bring on the Mexico u20's on Thursday. eek2

    Accrington Stanley? Who are they?

    ___

We've got two games at the exact same time on Sunday. One at Frome opening their new stand and one in Weston. McGhee will be at Frome to open the stand but no news on what squads are going where. Hoping to find out today. Nice day out in Weston watching the first team please. pray
