Portsmouth are one of the biggest joke clubs around. I mean, they must have got the only Arab in the world to take over a football club that didn't have any money.

Portsmouth
Whilst many others may have sympathy for them, I do not. They just seem to be one of those clubs that spends stupid sums of money they can't afford, go into administration, do it again, go into administration again, then complain when they get punished. Why were Southampton punished? Why were Rangers punished? Why were Birmingham punished? Why were Coventry punished? But not Portsmouth! Football should not be above the law, they owe money. Sell the ground, sell the assets and pay what you owe...should have been chucked out the Football League a long time ago.

Re: Portsmouth
Completely agree.
If my parents didn't pay taxes etc it would be a different story, seems when a Football club does it it's alright.

How have they been punished then Daniel? Point deduction? No. Expunged from the Football League? No.

Deducted 10 points last season. Probably would have stayed up without that.

Re: Portsmouth
And I forgot to mention that NOT A SINGLE PENNY has been paid to the creditors from the 2010 CVA. Their claims have been further diluted and now represent 0.4% of the original debt. Perhaps this is the new way to run a football club. Spend other people's money on unsustainable wages for a few years of glory, blow off about £180 MILLION debt, blaming the players that they have empoyed on lucrative contracts in the process and then start all over again.

Re: Portsmouth
They've deferred loads of wages in an attempt to get the wage bill down.
In doing so they've added to their debt.

Wow. Not pay back £180m's worth of debt and only get a -10 point deduction. Sounds good to me.

They're pretty fucked right about now. With Kanu and Mokoena refusing to turn up to training Appleton is left with 8 first team players.

It's still punishment for entering administration. They were deducted 9 points in March 2010, and were relegated from the Premier League...Mason wrote:Danny wrote:Deducted 10 points last season. Probably would have stayed up without that.

My thoughts, I like it when bigger teams get relegated to league 1/2

They have 4 trialists in too, but since they are under an embargo they aren't allowed to sign and play competitively yet.Harrold wrote:They're pretty fucked right about now. With Kanu and Mokoena refusing to turn up to training Appleton is left with 8 first team players.
Should be put out of their misery, it's gone beyond a joke and they still owe charities money.

Re: Portsmouth
You are a retard. They have £160m to pay back, they haven't paid anything back and still no action has been taken. If this happened to a city buisness they would be closed down straight away and the site would be up for sale. Why are the FA allowing this? This is breaking the law.

Re: Portsmouth
It's all Peter Storrie's fault, how he thought they could sustain transfer fees of £10m+, and 40 odd k on wages for players when playing in a 19,000 seater stadium and not a huge fanbase is beyond me.

You said they haven't been punished, when the likes of Saints and Coventry had. I've shown that that's bullshit.Mason wrote:You are a retard. Don't be a cunt and have a go at me because their only punishments have been points deductions.

Ok, you may be correct.
I wish nothing but failure on this little pathetic club.

Re: Portsmouth
Only just realised Darlington were liquidated and sent way down into the non-leagues with a newco like Rangers and called Darlington 1883.
Even with the their squad list now minus Mokoena and Kanu i'd think Pompey have the biggest wage bill in League One

Tbh, as a Pompey fan, i would welcome that. I think it would be better if we were liquidated, so the scabs like Sacha & the Al-Mirage idiots get nothing, for destroying a great football club. Start fresh somewhere deep down in the lower leagues, without the muppets.
Ben Haim, i would personally pick him up from Pompey's training ground and drive him to another club. Absolute waste of space.

Re: Portsmouth
I am fucking fuming. Not only have Portsmouth gone to Spain on a pre-season tour and have paid for players they DON'T EVEN OWN.
Simon Gillet is also on trial with them after turning down a new contract at Doncaster Rovers. Doncaster's chairman said "We'd have loved to have kept Gilly, but once he became aware of what another club offer him, we couldn't match that".
WHEN WILL THIS FUCKING SHIT CLUB LEARN. FUCKING MORONS.

No, Gillet wasn't offered a new deal. I think someone else funded it anyway, not the club themselves.

Get a grip, they need enough players to have a squad.
