Super biased indeed. Serena lost in the first round of Roland Garros and she's been taken to 3 sets twice at Wimbledon by players ranked considerably lower than her. She is no model of consistency - I wouldn't even rank her top 3 in the most consistent players in the women's draw.

i know shes not consistant i was talkng about the womens game in general, i still think shes the best player overall though, sharapova a second. what do you think?

Hard to compare Serena to anyone else. Even if she plays like shit, she can beat anyone with her serve which is undoubtedly the best serve the women's game has ever seen. Her ground game nowadays isn't as good though - I'd say Sharapova's ground game is better, Azarenka at her best (as we saw today) can compete with it too.

In the past 12 months, maybe even a bit longer, the women's game has improved drastically in terms of consistency. The likes of Sharapova, Azarenka, Radwanska, Wozniacki (up until the past 6-8 months), Kvitova and now Kerber are almost always in the latter stages of tournaments.

she got nervous towards the end of that set, but she was a church mouse beside Azarenka’s wailing banshee.

It's stupid how they're trying to ban players from grunting when hitting the ball. If it "distracts" you as they say, then tough shit.

I do sometimes think that grunting as loudly as some of them do must take more energy.

One thing I find ridiculous is that if you're playing Maria or Vika and they're grunting throughout it's okay but if you get cramp and make a loud noise through pain you lose the point.

I think it's great. I tune in to watch a tennis match, not to listen to two women that sound like they're in labor.

I get why it might bother some people but there's always double standards. Men grunt too yet nobody seems to complain there.

Probably because the high pitch noises go through people, which is also probably why Vika and Maria get most shit. Laughing Serena sounds enough like a man. shifty

No, you're right. Watching men's matches is just as unbearable because of it.

I love watching Rafa, for instance, but he just sounds like a total phaggot when he plays.

That's the impression I get from a lot of men's grunts, Rafa included shifty Ferrer is another one.
