I said that this would happen if it happened in a way that didn't suit him.

I think it's about time we outlawed slavery. Who is brave enough to join me in this very controversial pursuit?

You have to think that there is a conspiracy.

I thought we had to wait for him and Platini to die to get this statement.

Idiot. Blatter changed his views on GLT completely after the World Cup.

Let's just ignore the fact that FIFA approved trials of goaline technology weeks ago, no the whole world is against poor England.

What about when Platini outrageously claimed there are too many foreign imports in the premier league? This was clearly a ploy to strengthen other leagues and make the premier league worse.Eternal Witcher wrote:Theo Filippo wrote:No Sean, there is a conspiracy against England.

I predict a huge, match changing decision to go against us in the knockout stages.

But he still doesn't like England for some reason.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Adz wrote:2010 World Cup: No No! GLT is not required as it helped Germany and affected England!

Just because they don't wave a flag or jump up and down doesnt mean they don't do anything.

We still see the same offside goals, still see people diving to win penalties and even getting goals wrong as well. It doesn't seem to have been reduced at all.ResurrectionRooney wrote:limerickcitykid wrote:

The politics is strong in this one.
Sepp Blatter 2010 - after Blufontaine: Goaline technology is bad for football! (At meeting about GLT btw)
2011: Platini pushed forward as Powerhouse nations' favorite to replace Blatter as president of Fifa
2012: Platini calls goal line technology unnecessary
Slightly later in 2012: Blatter says it's not an option, it's a necessity as Ukraine's offside goal is ruled out.

Have you read or written a study into this or something? Observing the frequency of refereeing errors with and without extra officials? If you have could you give me a link to it, I'd be very interested to see the results.

I don't think so, Blatter isn't going for reelection, he hasn't much need for Politicking. Which meeting was this where he said GLT is bad for football? I thought there was a pretty marked change in this stance following Lampard's non-goal.
Platini's always been against it by the way.

I don't remember the exact meeting, but apparently it was brought up at a meeting after the WC, and postponed several times until 2nd of july this year. Supposedly, and I might be flat out wrong here, if so I apologize, Blatter was one of the proponents of having it delayed as long as possible saying that it would be bad for the game.
At least Platini is consistent
