    I find it hilarious that a ref can be punished because he didn't acknowledge himself being headbutted. That is silly to me.

    The referee was so bad that day. Algeria would have probably forfeited the match due to incomplete number of players on the field from red cards had there been a proper referee. And then you hear the Algerians saying we payed the referee in that match. Neutral

    The reason he was suspended was because he was so bad, with the headbutt incident being one of the worst. What kind of referee gets headbutted by a player and doesn't do anything about it or even mention it in his report? And it's not something the referee could have missed. The keeper headbutted him right in front of his face.
