Living in halls for first year is probably the best thing you could do in your life, ever. You have plenty time to live with mates, halls is a once in a lifetime experience.

May someone suggest another forum to use alongside this which is rather similar? Public forum and everything.

I blame the thread where you said you'd shag an STD riddled female without contraception, the prophecy came true.

Re: Chat Thread
All depends on who you stay with. I've never been in halls myself, but both of my closest friends lived in halls for their first year of further education. The first one managed to get stuck in a flat with a bunch of med students who liked to study a lot and go to bed at 9pm, so if there was any fun to be had, it was at someone elses flat. My other mate managed to get stuck with one total arsehole, two mad evangelical christians, and one guy who was sound (I ended up living with him for a bit later on).TheRangersFan wrote:Gatsby wrote:Most people in Northern Ireland go to Queens in Belfast if they get in. I do also know of other mates who have had a great time in halls (and by the sounds of it you had a good time too), so by all means I'm not saying don't do it , just gotta be lucky.

Yeah I agree with that. I got a dodgy flat. Had a weird Chinese guy who hardly ever left his room and think I only spoke to about 5 times, not sure about his name. Had a weird nerdy guy who brought over loads of weird mates all the time. And a girl who spent all her time with her boyfriend and made an annoying mess in the kitchen every day.
What I would say though, is it's generally easy to find other people who you like in halls, even if they don't live with you. That's what I did, ended up spending most of my time in another flat with some cool people.

I'm not going because I don't have a clue what I want to do, so i'm taking a year out and then decide at the end of the year.
