Del Piero vs Totti

Both are legends at their clubs and two of the finest Italian players of the past 15 years. Play in similar positions too so I thought this thread would be interesting to make.

I've banned Kuled from this thread by the way. He bums Del Piero

I like both of them. I admire Totti's loyalty to Roma.

For me it's Del Piero, though.

I've always liked Del Piero more.

To be fair they're both extremely loyal to their clubs Del Piero even stayed with Juventus when they got demoted.

I am not going to pretend to be knowledgeable, let alone an expert, on either of these two players as I have not watched enough of them over their entire careers to pass proper judgment. However, from what I have seen, Del Piero seems like the slightly more intelligent player.

About 15 years.

Totti's always been more talented in my opinion but Del Piero is such a legend. I'd say Totti is a fair bit better now.

Yeah, I suppose. I guess I've noticed it with Totti over ADP because he's always been with Roma. I do admire that ADP stuck with Juve when the were in Serie B.

Totti is far more intelligent in my opinion, in fact I would say he is one of the most intelligent players of his generation. The only players I have seen who have better football intelligence are Xavi and Cassano.

Yeah, in terms of creativity and intelligence Totti is superior. He also has one of the best first touches I've ever seen in my life.

From what I have watched, Del Piero has delivered more for his country (in my opinion).
Despite the fact that Totti had the the most assists of any player in the 2006 World Cup tournament.

Both incredibly gifted players but for me, Totti is the better player.

Cassano shouldn't have left Roma like that....IIRC when he was sold from Real he even said he shouldn't haev left Roma

Both true legends who should retrospectively have moved to a better league to further their careers.

He did, but as much of a genius as Cassano was/is on the pitch he's always been unstable off it. Come to think of it he's had his unstable moments on the pitch too.



Cassano is a tragedy, he's probably my favourite player and in my opinion the most ingenious natural talent I've ever seen, but he won't go down as a legend. Then again if he didn't have that self-destructive aspect he wouldn't be the same player on the pitch either. Easily more talented than Del Piero and Totti for me.

Pirlo has a higher footballing IQ than both of those guys.

if our strikers can actually finish, totti would have as many assists as messi
