Game between the top 2 starts in 10 minutes or so for anyone interested. Atletico Mineiro x Vasco, Roosters vs. Giants, Ronaldinho vs. Juninho.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
So, round 17.
Santos managed to draw with the 17th place in the league. Actually had to come back from 2x0 down. Pato Rodriguez led the comeback on his debut. He'll be starting now.
Vagner Love's brace pushed Flamengo over Nautico. He has 3 goals in his last 2 games now.
A 90th minute winner from 19 year old Mike gave Inter the win over Ponte Preta. He's one to look out for.
In the game of the week, Ronaldinho went in beast mode to lead 1st place Atletico Mineiro to victory against 2nd place Vasco. Vasco were pretty much kicked around for the whole game. Offered very little going forward.
Lastly, Romarinho scored a great backheel goal to give Corinthians a late win vs. Coritiba. To think Santos' hierachy that Bill was a better buy than this kid.

Round 18
Saturday was tame. Flu won 1x0 to retain 2nd and Sao Paulo hammered Ponte Preta 3x0. Sunday was a different story though.
Santos won 3x2 in an exciting classico with Corinthians featuring a goal following 3 missed offside calls.
Atletico Mineiro extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3x2 win over Botafogo in a great game. Bernard scored the winner.
Gremio are kinda flying under the radar right now, but they keep on winning. Beat last place Figueirense 4x0. Sad to see Figueira in such bad straits this year after their amazing campaign in 2011. The usual story of a small team that performs well being strip mined in the offseason.
Round 19 is the classico matchday as 8 derbies will be played. It's going to be spectacular.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
So round 19 which is pretty much all derbies, started today. Weird symmetry. There were 3 games and all three of them ended in 2x1 wins. Also, only one player scored for each winner since there were three braces as well.
Both bracees in the two away wins consisted of a goal from a freekick and a goal from open play.
Thiago Neves in Vasco 1x2 Fluminese
Neymar in Palmeiras 1x2 Santos.
Neymar's freekick was his first goal though, while Thiago Neves' was his second
Giancarlo's brace in Ponte Preta 2x1 Portuguesa wasn't too bad either.

Gremio doing really well under the radar. Elano though. \-_-/
The final 20 of the Musa do Brasileirao is set. Safe to say that Vasco's is the best.
Botafogo's Michel Machado in second for me.

Aloisio has been scoring goals for Figueirense, hopefully he can do the same against FLU. If we win tomorrow which I doubt even though Palmeiras is shit..then I think we can challenge for the champions.
Your boy Ze Roberto has been deadly, still plays like he's 23.

1. Go to youtube.
2. Search for "[insert team 1] [insert team 2] melhores momentos, this week".

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
No prob. Haven't updated in a while, so here goes.
Table after Round 24.
Fluminese are now top, but Atletico's game in hand is vs. Flamengo, so that's pretty much 3 points for them. Palmeiras are falling deeper and deeper into the relegation mire. They could be in the Libertadores and Serie B next year if this continues. It's funny because, I don't think they're that bad. *shrug*
Didn't see most of the highlights from this round, but I'm going to call these the two best goals because I can.
Transfer Window
The internal window shuts next week Friday. It looks like Ganso will be leaving Santos after all. Reports say he's set to sign for Sao Paulo tomorrow.

I was thinking of being Sao Paulo on FM this year. If that happens... Santos fans must be aff their nut.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
Reactions are mixed.
Some don't want him to leave.
Some can't wait to see the back of him since they think he's a mercenary (which he kinda is). These fans write his name as "Gan$o".
Others, like me, are torn. We're tired of all the transfer soap opera and accept that he obviously wants to leave, but to sell him to a rival - or even another Brazilian club - sticks in the throat. Better if he had gone to Europe, but no-one wants him right now.
Hearing now that Gremio and Atletico Mineiro are still interested, so this might take a while. Whatever money we pocket from the deal will be useless for a while since the buying options are limited. It'll probably disappear into the pockets of the greedy buffoons running the club.

Round 25
None of the top four won. Atletico Mineiro (2nd) and Flu(1st)both lost, while Gremio (3rd) and Vasco (4th) drew. Neymar saved Santos again with a brace in a 2x1 comeback win.
Best goals of the round.

His move is supposed to be done, but Gremio are back in trying to hijack the deal. The fact that Santos are meeting with them means that it's going to be delayed for a while more. Still think he's going to Sao Paulo eventually.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
Ganso to Sao Paulo is done. R$23,914 million paid to Santos for 45% of his economic rights, 5 year deal, R$350 a week. He's signed the contract and will be presented on Sunday or thereabouts.
Good luck, Ganso, I'm sad you're gone / Fuck off you ungrateful mercenary, I hope you choke on your wages.'
Both apply.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
God, I fail at math so hard.
You know maybe it's my Latin American football perspective but I've always felt that 11 million dollars for a footballer is absurd money, and for that price you can get a fantastic footballer.
But then you go to the BPL, and you see teams buy some, well not so fantastic players for near that price.

Re: 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A
That's only for 45% of his economic rights (the other 55% is owned by a 3rd party). So the estimate of Ganso's full price is close to 27 million US.
