Nothing I didn't already know but nice to have the Turkish and Czech leagues back. A few Canadian internationals play in the Turkish league so it will be nice to have them back for UT.

    looks decent

    Very good new regarding transfers.

They need to explain how exactly player development works. Having a young, promising, defender play a stretch of games at a high level only to see that their finishing stat increased instead of the tackling/marking/strength is disappointing. Even more disappointing is when that player, who is supposed to increase a lot throughout their career, doesn't grow at all for months, while someone in the reserves who is seeing no minutes has increased.

When matches are re-scheduled it can be frustrating. Had a game mid-week, with almost a bit over a week until the next game, and the team decides to re-schedule. Didn't think anything of it until I saw they had jammed 3 matches a week for more than a month.

Example – Shreeves: “Goal at Anfield, Fulham’s Clint Dempsey scores a brilliant freekick to make it 2-1, 73 minutes played” Tyler “Thanks Geoff”

If you are unhappy you now have the option to request a transfer, or request a loan to gain more match experience

If you choose to play for a top club with a low rated VP you will not be a first team starter to begin with, you’ll be loaned to gain experience first.

If fatigued or playing poorly the manager can now substitute your player.

Once your playing days are over can can opt to retire and take up management.

After each Career Mode match you now receive a rundown of the classified results through in-game audio (think BBC Final Score)

Your manager now appears on the touchline in matches based on customisation options chosen at the start of Career Mode.

You can now offer player plus cash and player trade deals to the CPU.

Why do people still enjoy career mode on FIFA? It's something I enjoyed back when I was like 13, playing against the computer was awesome. But since I got xbox live I just don't see the point, it's just so boring and pointless. Not to mention career mode is just shit in general, If I want to manage a team I'll just go and play Football Manager, not waste my time playing career mode with a new gimmick added every 12 months.

EA need to give up on this in my opinion and focus on the general gameplay. Actually I'm sure they want to do this but then the people unable to play online will just moan. Fair enough I suppose, but I seriously can't stand this game mode anymore, I think I've played literally 2 hours of it in the last 2 FIFA's combined.

You now have the ability to edit player appearance during your Career Mode seasons. This option can be unlocked via the new EASFC Catalogue.

In other words, swear like a sailor and you’re likely to endure the condemnation of Martin Tyler through the game’s commentary, but also get yourself a reputation of being a touchline hot-head in career mode. “We feel it’s just a little bit more immersion,” continues Channon. “A lot of things we’re doing in career mode this year is a lot more depth, and we think this is one extra thing that brings a bit more life [to it].”

I don't get people bashing CM, I enjoyed it in previous years and will most likely enjoy it this year around as well. It's obviously not perfect but the transfer system has been revamped, which was probably the biggest gamekiller in FIFA 12, the unrealistic and repetitive transfers all the time. Still you can get a lot of fun from it, especially with last year's sliders which make the AI more bearable on higher difficulties.

Offline should always be the priority for EA, unfortunately they care more about UT etc because of the money.

And by the way, there are some rumours about online CM going around.

Everyone has their own interests. Because FIFA has various game modes, they attract more people. Saying Career Mode is shit is nonsense. There are plenty of people enjoying it and as said, it's probably the most popular game mode. Not everyone has the money to buy themselves a decent laptop/computer next to a PS3 or xbox. Besides, while you can manage your team infinitely better in FM, you cannot play a game yourself like you can in FIFA, so you cannot fully compare the two.

I'd like to see an improvement in gameplay aswell, without the ball-watching players doing nothing at all for example, but to get rid of the whole game mode wouldn't be a very clever thing to do, because they'd probably lose a lot of customers. I play both online and Career Mode, but I still liked to get myself a decent squad together and compete with the top teams.

I do in the last two FIFA's, Career Mode was garbage. Lots of bugs, growth system not working at all, actual gameplay wasn't worked out well. Hope they'll fix this, I guess I'll consider buying FIFA 13 a while after it's out, so I can check if they've fixed these things.

Career Mode's fun. At least it doesn't involve playing the barbaric scumbags that one tends to meet online. But they really do need to focus on the more important things instead of all this trivial crap. Player development is the major issue. There shouldn't be a cap on player potential, it should be proportional to how much they play and how well they do. A cap on potential makes the game mode obsolete very quickly since there is a very limited selection of young players who'll grow to the specific level that I'm looking for.
