I have a feeling that's not what he meant. It's actually a very simple mathematical process. You just multiply the entrance fee by the number of entrants and you should be able to calculate the total amount of coins. I know that the American education system isn't that great, but surely they must have taught you that.

You must take into account the tax lost when the money is transferred to Theo, and then the coins lost sent to the winner.

It's ok I accept the tax loss when I win the tournament.
