Guest- Guest
I just seen this on SPN and i wish him luck in his fight against it.
Guest- Guest
Shame, I rate him as Villa's best player (after Heskey of course) when he's on song.

Isn't it the chemotherapy that makes you lose hair?

Acute leukemia is characterized by a rapid increase in the numbers of immature blood cells. Crowding due to such cells makes the bone marrow unable to produce healthy blood cells. Immediate treatment is required in acute leukemia due to the rapid progression and accumulation of the malignant cells, which then spill over into the bloodstream and spread to other organs of the body.
Career over then
and yes, it's the chemotherapy that makes your hair fall out.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't acute leukemia the one where you need immediate treatment?

Yes. 5-year survival rates are also much lower in acute leukemia as opposed to chronic leukemia.

I assume they caught it early, seeing as Petrov is way younger than typical patients and that he has access to much better medical staff then most people.

Life is a shit house at times.
Hope he pulls through. Great player, very under-rated.

Fuck this, he's a great athlete, professional football player, most likely a very healthy lifestyle and still gets cancer .
I'll pray for him, wish him the best of luck and strength to fight this horrible disease, he'll have access to the best available medical treatment there is so the chance to survive should be fairly big.
By the way, this is nothing like what Abidal had, he 'only' had a benign tumour while Petrov has blood cancer, obviously that'll be the end of his playing career .

A guy in my class when we were in year 8 died of leukaemia, but my friends cousin survived it when she was 7.
So there is hope for Petrov.
I'm not really onto this #Pray4Petrov hype though. Seems like its just a recent fad people are going through an only doing it because of the Pray4Muamba.
I would rather a get well soon Petrov

I know the message of 'praying' for someone is great, but surely if there was a God he wouldn't have got cancer in the first place.

Well, actually genetics and evolution, Evolution only cares about breeding, not what happens after that. God is just a jackass.

My step-granddad has had it for 18 years, he'll always have it but he's still keeping himself fit and healthy.
