How do you think Barcelona's reign will come to an end?

Also, long term injuries (especially to Villa) have hurt them. Referee decisions have gone against them and for Real in La Liga.
I'm not trying to make excuses for not winning competitions, but it's just a little bump in the road for Barcelona. Class is permanent, form is temporary. We will see next season what Barcelona is made of.
But you just made like 3 sentences of excuses

Temporary reign might be over but you'd expect Barcelona to come back strongly very quickly. Maybe their time of complete and utter dominance has passed but there's no chance they'll just become shit. The way their academy is set, it's always going to produce plenty of prodigious young players. Even if their hegemony of European football fades slightly, you can still expect them to always be one of the very best sides in Europe.

Out of curiosity, is it even possible for some player to come along someday and be a better footballer than Messi?

Apparently Neymar is here. But seriously, it could happen. Just won't be in my generation I think. What's interesting is that we have two out of this world players: Messi and Ronaldo. I'm lucky to be watching them both every week.
