Starting XI minus foreigners.

Had this discussion with someone the other day.

What's your clubs best side minus the foreigners.

For the BPL teams other British players that are not English count as foreigners, foreigners who have gained citizenship and have not represented a national team/represented the country of the club's origin does not count as a foreigner.

Ex. Owen Hargreaves. John Barnes, Fabrice Muamba, Leroy Lita, Manuel Almunia ect. would all count as English because they have English citizenship and have not represented their country of birth/represented England.

Also whether or not someone plays for another country...they could have been in England for 20 years and be a "foreigner", but some random foreigner who plays for no one but has been here for 5 years is not a foreigner?

Under your rules I could probably have Mark Yeates, he's Irish but has never played for them...or Kacaniklic as he's Swedish but has been in the UK since 2007...so maybe he is eligible I dunno.

^^The rules don't care. If you carry English as second nat, you are English and are counted as such.

Mentalities of this kind are the reasons why organizations like the BNP exist, trying to make someone "less British" than someone who is "more British" for whatever reason.

But lets not even get into this, this is not about Politics, if the FIFA Rules/British law says you are English/British then that's what you are.

Almunia is English, but as soon as he plays for another country he isn't? I don't think that's in any rules or laws.

But whatever....I think if you ask Muamba or Lita (people who I assume have been living in England most of their life) who they are, there will be a lot more emphasis on England than Almunia. Trying to link my view to BNP is just ignorant......it's literally what everyone says on any view with any relation to immigration/nationality politics.....presumably because people think "Zomg, this guy doesn't think everyone is English, he must be the BNP".
