Also, judging form some comments in this thread, and things I've read on here in the past, why do people sign up to other club's forums? A lot of people seem to sign up to RAWK, and people on here are saying you get banned for disagreeing with Liverpool fans on their forums, which implies that they've signed up to a Liverpool forum? I don't get it? I've never thought of signing up to another club's forum.

How did you come across this, Chris? Do you frequent Liverpool forums?
People were laughing at it on Arsenal-Mania talking about how thick Liverpool fans are. Laughing

Bit like you Scott.. betting 2 people £50 Liverpool would finish higher than Arsenal, with 10 games to go you're nowhere near us. You're the typical deluded Liverpool fan. How's it feel being so thick?

To be fair, it took a bit of luck on Arsenal's behalf to get that far ahead. Coming back against a complacent Spurs, beating Liverpool in the last minute after being dominated all game and scoring an injury time winner against Newcastle.

Still 30 points to play for. Arsenal tend to have poor run-in form. Think how quickly you closed the gap on Spurs. Went from 10 points to 1 in a matter of 2-3 weeks. Who's to say Arsenal won't bottle it, like they always do?

I have no qualms in paying up either.

Whatever shred of optimism you hold on to as a Liverpool fan, as it stands, you should keep to yourself, we can't take that away from you, it's your right to support the club you do.

But don't be mad when people say "Hey, dickhead, come back to earth" because your expectations are stupid

Smashing Spurs after they went 2-0 up isn't luck, being clinical against Liverpool isn't luck and fighting until the end against Newcastle isn't exactly luck. You make your own luck in football. We didn't exactly have 3 goals awarded that were offside or some shit like that.

We've also won 7-1 against Blackburn and 2-1 at Sunderland in our last 5 league games too.

Yeah, the term "luck" is largely inapplicable to Arsenal Football Club unless it's got the word "bad" in front of it

What I find highly amusing though, is the huge contrast in Arsenal personalities now that they've won 3 or 4 games in a row.

When this purple patch is over, it'll be back to normal, with Arsenal fans whinging in the Arsenal thread, and no Arsenal fans trolling because they know they're not in a position to troll.

I don't get what the fuck you're on about. We are happy right now because we're in good form, why shouldn't we be? I'm not happy with the season overall, I think it's still a complete failure but there's nothing wrong with us enjoying this run we're on right now....

You have to admit the Liverpool game was undeserved. The better team lost.

Spurs got complacent and fucked up.

Newcastle game was very one-sided in Arsenal's favour, so I'll give you that one.

Beating a 10 man Blackburn is hardly impressive.

You scored a last minute goal against Sunderland, when a draw was probably the fair result.

First one: It doesn't matter one single bit that Liverpool were the better team. We were more clinical so we won. That isn't luck.

Spurs: They might have got complacent but we were still 2-0 down and managed to batter the current third best team in the country with 5 goals and no response.

Beating a 10 man Blackburn: We were 3 or 4-1 up by the time they went down to 10 men and we beat them 7-1 for fuck sake.

Sunderland away: We were the better team throughout the whole game...

There is nothing trolling about this thread.. its simply observing how thick fans can be. Its ironic that one of the fans from the same team we are laughing at comes in and starts being the optimist.. it just proves the point further. Laughing

Uhm ok. What exactly do you think fanatics and extremists mean? I have a feeling you missunderstand the term.
Why don't you explain what you mean by it seeing you said it. There is nothing extreme about football fans who communicate via an internet forum.

A fanatic is someone who takes support far more seriously than your average fan. Those who see themselves as an extension of what they are a fan of. You do not necessarily need to be insane or disturbed to be a fanatic, not at all. Most if not all "ultras" are fanatics, yet most of them are perfectly sane people. A good example of a fanatic is someone who hears the club they support be criticized and instantly jumps to their defence regardless of the criticism simply because they see it as a personal attack. Of which there are quite a few on these forums. That goes for all single-issue forums, science-fiction shows, fantasy books, football clubs etc...

An extremist is someone who has views that the average fan would not share. Delusion is a form of extremism, believing and not just "saying" that Liverpool have the best players in the world is extremist, because the average fan would not agree with it. They would say Liverpool have good players, but not the best in the world. Likewise saying Liverpool have the worst players in the world is extremist. It's simply taking an opinion and dragging it to the extreme.

Instead of believing Liverpool have good players, they have the best players. Instead of believing Liverpool have a slightly weak playing squad, it has the weakest. These are both views that are "extreme".
