Greatest English Player Ever...

If I were to base this of who I watched play on a daily basis, Paul Scholes.

Paul Scholes or Tony Adams.

I love Adams so he has to be there.

Shit!! How could I forget about Adams.

So yeah fuck you Scholes, Adams comes first.

I'm only 16, so in my lifetime the players I saw playing which I considered great were the likes of Gerrard, Beckham and Owen.

Obviously, there have been far greater players but I didn't see them play on a regular basis and can't say, yes they were the greatest. Missed the question but, meh.

Bobby Charlton. But the best English player to play in my life-time has got to be other Beckham or Gerrard.

For the younger ones here, look at some of Gascoigne's insane dribbling etc..

Indeed from what I've seen Gascoigne is easily the most talented English player to have lived, plenty have had better careers than him though.

Just talking ability here.

I would agree. I think him and Le Tissier are both on another level than Scholes. Both could do what Scholes does but he couldn't do alot of what either of them do, especially with the ripping players to pieces with dribbling.

I can't see how Scholes is on par with Gazza. I love the guy, but really? I would think Rooney comes closer than anyone else in the modern game
