    It was obviously bullshit.

From what I have heard the approach was made between senior football executives in Liverpool and Brian Marwood. They were talking about buying/loaning Carlos Tevez, a man Kenny Dalglish is supposed to have informed them that he wanted. During these talks the idea of a straight swap of Carrol for Tevez was presented, a long with several other options.

Has it been blown out of proportion? Definitely. You still presented the option to City though.

Doesn't mean the approach wasn't made.

He actually says "It's not true this" and then the reporter says "It's not true?" and he says "No"
    And managers never lie shifty

He actually says "It's not true this" and then the reporter says "It's not true?" and he says "No"

He says if you listen closely enough:

    "Was the approach made"
"I don't know. It is not true this"
    "It's not true?"
    "no".

The article from the Guardian mentions that it was a meeting between Brian Marwood and Liverpool officials who were discussing a potential deal for Carlos Tevez. It is very likely that the manager at this very theoretical point didn't know anything about it.

What if he was answering the question "It is not true?" with "No" implying that it is not true that is it not true, therefore it is true! Man City reject Liverpools Tevez-Carroll swap deal - Page 4 283183

Yeah but srsly, don't think this is legit.
