Gotta love Real Madrid. Top of the leauge, for once in front of Barca, playing some fairly attractive football and getting results, and yet they supposedly want Mourinho gone, and Arsene "I'm not spending a dime over £15M" Wenger in. Laughing

Of course it's in the daily mail, so in all likelyhood it's all complete and utter bullshit. Still though, entertaining enough if you're bored I suppose.

It's ridiculous that they would want Mourinho gone, but if they were to bring in Arsene Wenger, he'd do a fantastic job. You don't actually think Arsene Wenger would not want to spend more than 15 million pounds if he was the manager of a club with Real Madrid's finances, do you?

Personally I think Wenger would be great for Real Madrid as long as they gave him enough time. He'd shape up the youth department, he'd sign a handful of quality technical players, and he'd build a team that would eventually rise to beat Barcelona. However, he's not going to get the time, nor the freedom to do that.

I think he wouldn't need that much time. With Arsenal, it's difficult for him to sign players because of a couple of factors that mainly include our relatively weak financial position and the club's relative prestige. With a team like Real Madrid, there would be no reason for him to hesitate in paying an additional 5 or 10 million pounds (as he's done so often with Arsenal). Not to mention that so many top class players dream of playing for Real Madrid which should make his job easier. I think he'd do a fine job really, but he would have to be in charge of his own transfers.

Unfortunately given that Barcelona's players and style has been established over more or less 30 years, where Real Madrid's style has changed significantly and the players being brought in need to "adapt" to the new style, I think it would take too long for Real Madrid to remain patient.

That's quite true. He managed to implement that style rather quickly when he first joined Arsenal but that was a different day and age. Would be interesting anyway.

I wouldn't mind Wenger, maybe players such as Sarabia, Jesé Rodriguez, Alex, Carvajal & Morata will get a chance.

"If Barcelona draw, they go through".

Christ, thanks Ray Hudson. I didn't know how a 2-1 first leg lead worked.
