Act 1 is the hardest, combat gets easier the more skills you unlock.

That's good, I really struggle when there's more than 3 enemies.

Re: The Witcher 2
Did you do the quest where you get ambushed at one point? I died quite often, had to do alot of hitting and running.
Anyway, like I said before, by the end of the game you'll get a skill that allows you to kill three at once.

I'm not sure, at the moment I'm on my way to the boat to find evidence of Kayran.Eternal Witcher wrote:Did you do the quest where you get ambushed at one point? I died quite often, had to do alot of hitting and running.

Just before that I was doing a side quest which involved getting a formula for some guy but I tried to trick the guy by giving him a fake formula but then he realised it was fake and tried to kill me.

Re: The Witcher 2
Finished this today, brilliant game but the ending was a bit anticlimactic.
It's shit that we have to wait until 2014 for The Witcher 3.

2014? Fuuaaarrrkkkk.
Guess I'll have to work towards surviving till then.
It just looks so promising, this game is basically just a prelude to the big fight. The first game more of an introduction. Anyway, what did you do, kill or let go?

Re: The Witcher 2
I took Iorveth's path and I chose to kill at the end.
Felt kinda bad though because he kept Triss safe.

Re: The Witcher 2
- Spoiler:
- I took Iorveth's path just because he was an elf, regretted it because Vernon Roche had a pretty decent storyline during Act 2. Glad to see he was still around at the end, he's pretty much the Chuck Norris of the Witcher world. Anyway, I saved the dragon...easy choice given that the Kingslayer had Triss covered, and then spared him because I didn't want to kill off what could be a big player in the next game. Even spared the witch who helped with the Krayen. I regret not killing the captain in Act 1, shame.

So glad I'm 18 now, I used to get so pissed off when they wouldn't sell me a game.

- I saved the dragon but I let the bitch witch die, I was sick of her shenanigans . I'm doing Roche's path now because I made a second save just before I had to choose, pretty good so far but I prefer the city to this shitty camp/castle.
The next game is set up perfectley and CD Projekt said they plan to make The Witcher 3 the game of the decade.

Re: The Witcher 2
Great, the best 3rd person RPG I've played, AC and Mass Effect not included. Combat is difficult, in a good way, so the higher you level up, the more confident you feel at taking a few monsters down. But I think the player choices are the best aspect.

When I say what's the combat system like, I meant is it like hack & slash or tactical etc.
I'll probably get it regardless though, I'm on an RPG craving at the moment.

The combat system is good but quite hard in the first act.
Here's a video, monsters are generally harder that people btw.

Re: The Witcher 2
Splashy, what did you think of the post-credits cinematic? Found it stunning.
Zzonked- It's essentially tactical. You can do a normal or heavy blow, a choice of seven spells, and you have to dodge often to have any chance. It's pretty engrossing, guaranteed to see the death screen quite often.

God, I failed so hard at that bit. Admittedly I ended up running away from them and casting traps and heavy blows to thin the ranks. The big guy was a bitch.

Looks interesting. Hopefully they port it to PS3.
EW, how's the first Witcher game? My computer might be able to support it since the game is like four years old.

Yeah they were great, The Witcher 3 is going to be amazing.Eternal Witcher wrote:Splashy, what did you think of the post-credits cinematic? Found it stunning.
Same, I must have spent 15 minutes just running around and dodging whilst waiting for my vigor to refill.Eternal Witcher wrote:

Not sure about because I never played it.Juventino. wrote:Looks interesting. Hopefully they port it to PS3.

I think The Witcher 2 will be on the PS3 but CD Projekt are a small company with little budget so it might take a while to make.

Yeah, I played it on a fairly low-end pc back then, worked well enough. While the character animations looks prehistoric compared to this game, it's essentially the same experience, so I highly recommend it. Great story, great choices, great monsters.
Plus it's the only PC RPG I've played.

Re: The Witcher 2
I confess, I kept checking for news on whether they would port it to consoles. Appreciate the work they put in, in order to make it happen. Hope they made decent profit, they've sold 1.7 million in total I think, they deserve it.

Acquired the first game through Steam for $10 US. I'm really enjoying it thus far but I don't know how defeat that giant grasshopper thing at Kaer Morhen Castle.

I just go to youtube walkthroughs when I can't defeat a boss, did that for the Krayen in the second game.

I used the quest book that I got with the Enhanced Edition, I died at least 5 times trying to kill the Kayran.

Think I'll buy the novels now, seeing that the games are sequels to the books.
