Ahly, keep in mind that she didn't fall straight to the river from that bridge. She was quite a bit more than 3/4 the way down before the rope fully extends and then snaps. She only really fell from that distance downwards.

I think it only applies with salt water anyway and that looks like a freshwater river. She also swam to shore like a boss even though her feet were tied together
