What's the deal with Halal meat anyway? Why can't you guys eat normal meat? Something to do with the way it is slaughtered or prepared I get, but what exactly?

It has to be slaughtered in God's name. It needs to be slaughtered in a specific way, and all the blood needs to be drained.
