7,422 to be exact. Perhaps if the FA Cup was open to everyone rather than just the top 8 tiers you would have this many teams involved.

Its just sooooo much fun being linked to every Frenchman know. Would be surprised if out of all the teams, a high number of them have had a player linked to us

Re: 2011/12 Coupe de France thread
Joe Cole scored a hat trick in France! Although it was against a team not worthy to have its own Wikipedia page.

Marseille also claimed a comprehensive win with a 5-0 success at Red Star, but Ligue 1 sides Sochaux, Caen, Brest and Lorient were knocked out by lower-league opposition.
England midfielder Cole opened the scoring for Lille in the 23rd minute and Eden Hazard. added a second from the spot.
Ireneusz Jelen made it 3-0 shortly after the break before Cole struck twice more to complete his treble and Jelen added a sixth.
Jordan Ayew scored twice for OM, opening the scoring in the 43rd minute and sealing the win in the 90th.
Mathieu Valbuena, Andre Ayew and Benoit Cheyrou also netted after the break as Marseille cut loose as the match wore on.
Ligue 2 side Bastia beat top-flight strugglers Sochaux 4-1 with a brace from David Suarez. Jeremy Choplin put them ahead in the second minute and Suarez made it two.
Yassin Mikari pulled one back early in the second half before another from Suarez and a Wahbi Khazri effort sealed the victory.
Troyes, also of Ligue 2, scored twice in extra-time to win 4-2 at Caen. Goals from Thiago Xavier and Raphael Caceres put the visitors two up, but Caen came back after the break with Thomas Heurtaux and Faycal Fajr on target.
However, Troyes ensured their progression with two goals in extra-time courtesy of Marcos (100) and Sebastien Grax (113).
Third division Chamois Niortais beat Brest 2-0 thanks to goals from Mouhamadou Diaw and Jimmy Roye, while Ligue 2 Le Havre edged out Lorient 4-3. Mathieu Coutadeur and Jacques Romao scored two quickfire goals to put Lorient 2-1 in front after James Fanchone's early opener.
Benjamin Genton and Fanchone again scored either side of half-time to put Le Havre back in front again only for Arnold Mvuemba to make it 3-3. But substitute Yohan Riviere struck 10 minutes of time to earn Le Havre victory.
Elsewhere, Bordeaux beat St Etienne 4-2 on penalties after the match ended 1-1 and Rennes saw off Nancy 3-0.
Nice won 2-0 at AS Marck, Auxerre beat Chambly Thelle 1-0, Ajaccio were 3-0 winners over Frejus Saint-Raphael and Dijon swept aside Versailles 5-1.
Also through to the next round are Limoges, Sable-sur-Sarthe, US Orleans, Tours and Valence.

One of their centerbacks just happened to score a 90th minute winner but the bad thing is this was also against a team without a Wikipedia page whicb means they are most likely are 7th tier or below.

They were promoted to the 5th tier for the first time last year which explains why they do not have a page on Wikipedia.

Re: 2011/12 Coupe de France thread
Marseille's miserable run continued after a goal two minutes from the end of extra-time by John-Christophe Ayina ensured Championnat side US Quevilly moved into the semi-finals of the Coupe de France with a famous victory over the Ligue 1 giants.
GettyImagesMarseille coach Didier Deschamps failed to progress
The match was preceded by a minute's silence to honour those killed in the shootings in Toulouse and Montauban.
Once the game was under way Marseille's shocking form, which has seen them lose five consecutive Ligue 1 games continued when they made a dreadful start with Julien Valero putting the lowly hosts ahead after just six minutes.
Marseille imposed themselves on the game more after the break, Diawara twice having headers thwarted by Quevilly goalkeeper Issa Coulibaly.
Marseille came agonisingly close when Alou Diarra's effort hit the post but with just five minutes left they levelled through substitute Loic Remy.
Rod Fanni sent in a cross which was headed on by Andre Ayew with Remy sliding home from close range.
Marseille were clear favourites going into extra-time and they missed a great chance when Jordan Ayew hit the post but it was the hosts who went ahead with nine minutes left through Ayina.
However, the lead lasted only two minutes, with Remy striking again. The game appeared to be heading for penalties before the hosts claimed a stunning victory, Ayina slotting the ball into an empty net.
This is the 3rd time this 3rd division side have reached the semifinal stage of the Coupe de France. Maybe this is the time they win the whole thing.
