A little backstory here, Cruz Azul is one of the "biggest" teams in Mexico, they regularly get into the knockout stages they call a Liguilla(Mexico uses a playoff system to crown a champion) usually after playing pretty well during the season, but then time and time again they choke when it matters and it's been 14 years since they've won anything major, and when I say they choke when it matters I mean it.
In the leauge they have been runner ups in the Clausura 2008, Apertura 2008, Apertura 2009
In Concacaf they have been runner ups in 2009 and 2010.
and in Libertadores they have been runner ups in 2001.
