It seems David Beckham's loyalty towards Manchester United knows no bounds after the former England captain declared that City have 'no chance' of winning the Barclays Premier League title this season.
The midfielder made the bizarre comments despite the fact City are five points clear of champions United at the top of the table and unbeaten after 13 games.
Becks, who spent more than a decade in the red half of Manchester as a player, has shrugged off the Blues' strong start to the season and insists his former club have more experience when it comes to winning championship.
Bizarre: David Beckham claimed Manchester City lacked experience to win title
Although it could be time for the LA Galaxy star to take off those red-tinted glasses as City clearly mean business this term.
Roberto Mancini's side have already given United the Blues following their 6-1 win at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, the 36-year-old, speaking in Jakarta, Indonesia, as part of Galaxy's tour of Asia, said: 'I don't think Manchester City have a chance. This season they have got a good team and have some good players, but Manchester United have more experience and know how to win a championship.
Undecided: Becks is yet to make up his mind on whether to remain at LA Galaxy
Beckham, who has been linked with a move to Paris St Germain if he does not renew his Galaxy contract, meanwhile, refused to shed any light on his future plans. 'I have a big decision to make,' said Beckham, who recently celebrated winning the MLS Cup play-off final over Houston Dynamo.
He also added that he needed to be fit and playing in form to get a 'very special' berth on the Great Britain team in next year's London Olympics.
