Why are you telling him to shut up? I thought the one thing you guys all agreed on is the midfield situation. scratch

So when Cleverley got injured.. did we or did we not start playing shit?

    Fletcher/Anderson - Carrick aren't that bad.

I'm not saying that. We simply can't rely on Cleverley, that's what i'm saying. Cleverley will no doubt get injured again. We'll be in this situation once again, that's if Ferguson doesn't go out and improve the midfield in January.

Wouldn't mind Beckham coming back til the end of the season tbh, would be a great way to end his career, where he started but doubt it'll happen considering the options we have.

I think ferguson made the Hernandez sub way too late. 8 minutes isn't enough for a player to make an impact. He should have taken Young off instead of Valencia. Young just had a terrible 2nd half. Nani motm.

The midfield is just crap overall.

Hate to say it but RR has a bit of a point. Ferguson has been doing this coaching thing for a while now and he's getting up there in years. He might just be getting a bit tired.(even if he says otherwise, who would want to quit football?)

Of course it doesn't really matter either way, as long as Ferguson doesn't retire than he's staying put, you know, cause he's Alex Fucking Ferguson.

Er...because he keeps making terrible decisions, keeps losing world class players and not replacing them, and over the past 4 seasons the team is getting worse and worse. Here are some players we had in September 2007 who were bona fide world class, among the best in the world in their positions, who we've since lost, and who Ferguson replaced them with

    Paul Scholes - Tom Cleverley
    Owen Hargreaves - Nobody
    Carlos Tevez - Michael Owen
    Cristiano Ronaldo - Antonio Valencia
    John O'Shea - Phil Jones
Edwin van der Sar - David de Gea
    Wes Brown - Nobody
    Louis Saha - Chicharito

There are also quite a few players who were world class then, and are not world class now, and Ferguson hasn't replaced any of them either

Ferdinand - constantly injured, nowhere near as good as he once was
    Evra - Well past it
Giggs - Nearly 40 now (still one of our best CMs though, tragically enough)

and pretty much everyone else has gone downhill as well, bar Rooney.

Ferguson is consistently making terrible decisions, he should be put under some scrutiny, not worshipped like "King Kenny" up the road.

    John O'Shea - Phil Jones
Edwin van der Sar - David de Gea
    Wes Brown - Nobody
    Louis Saha - Chicharito

Jones is a good enough replacement. One for the future, showing he can play in multiple positions like O'Shea and is more of an attacking threat as well.

Who would you have chosen you replace VDS with? De Gea had a shaky start but has been brilliant the last few games, bar yesterdays poor kick. It would always be hard to replace VDS who was such a great keeper for us.

Smalling was kind of a replacement for Brown, really.

Hernandez has been great for us. Saha was good but hindered by injuries a lot. I don't see no problem with Hernandez.

O'Shea and Brown obviously aren't. Hargreaves was constantly injured and played less than 10 minutes in about 2 years. Saha was always injured and only ever really had 1 good consistent run in the team. Laughing

And adding the fact Hernandez is better than Saha, players like Jones, Cleverley and De Gea have so much potential and could be here for years..

facepalm players mentioned there are in space of 5 years or more... Saha wasnt replaced by Hernandez, he was replaced by Tevez, tevez was replaced by Berba. then the ROnaldo bit, no one can replace ronaldo so we changed our style when he left, so valencia was not a direct replacement, which is another hole in your argument.

and so on, putting it like you did is extremely short sighted, shallow and sorry excuse for an argument

you seem to forget we are current premier league champions Neutral and have won the premier league title 4 times in the last 5 years.... tell me another team that can match that

How was Saha a direct replacement for Tevez when they played together for a season? The same with Tevez and Berbatov.

The idea that you can't replace a good player when he leaves is an absolute fallacy. We weren't the only big club to lose our best player that summer, Jose Mourinho's Inter did. While Ferguson was bitching and crying that there was no value in the market (a market that he had inflated by holding out for £80m by the way), Jose Mourinho was out buying players like Milito (€28m), Eto'o (€20m), Sneijder (€18m), Lucio (€8m), Motta and his side won the Treble.

The reason he did that is that he is a much better manager than Ferguson. Arjen Robben is another great player who transferred that summer and nearly lead his side to the Treble. No value - no judgement more like.

you seem to forget we are current premier league champions Neutral and have won the premier league title 4 times in the last 5 years.... tell me another team that can match that

Chelsea and Arsenal get worse every season as well, that's why we've won the League.

Even with a strategy like that they have won more European cups than Ferguson over his career.
