Messi's goal wasn't that great, he tried to chip Almunia but got lucky and it fell back to him, never really saw the whole hype about it.

Voted Gomez even if the Gio and Neymar goals were better. Everything just came together so perfectly when he scored after having his head split open, no more subs so he comes back in and the blood is coming through the bandages as he is playing, and then he scored that goal. Not many games I can remember better than that Mexico u-17 vs Germany u-17 in recent years. Was more excited about that goal than the Gio goal, even though the Dos Santos goal meant the win of the final.

You guys are talking about the goals he scored last season right? Yeah the Villareal goal was pretty good, almost identical to the Panathinaikos goal, but honestly what he did to Almunia was ridiculous. Not saying it was the goal of the year, cause Alves scored a rocket that was better. But still the composure, brilliance, and reflexes he had for that goal were ridiculous. Never seen someone do that with such a cool head, didn't panic for a minute. I'm just surprised how people are saying "It's not that good" cause it was.

And honestly there was more hype around the 2nd goal he scored against Madrid because it was such a heated rivalry. Same deal with Rooney's overhead kick, better goals were scored in the EPL that year.
