PS3 Jailbreak.

Don't know why but the last thread was deleted so I'll spread the news here.

APPARENTLY the PS3 will soon be completely hacked. As in, there will be nothing that Sony can do except make a shiteload of new PS3s with new hardware in and try and get everyone to buy OR they'll have to release the PS4.

All you'll need to do is download a special firmware to your PS3 and then download/copy all games to your PS3 for FREE.

Fingers crossed it's true.

Do you reckon it'll be safe to do though?

It should be tested thoroughly before it's released.

If anything happens though, I'm pretty certain there's software out already to fix any bricks.

I've gone through a couple of custom firmwares and never had any problems.

How did you find out?

Because my PS3 is jailbroken but on an older firmware, I haven't been able to get the latest games apart from Uncharted 3 and BF3, so I've been following all the Jailbreak forums to see if there's any new developments for newer games.

Someone sent the new breakthrough to one of the forums today anonymously.

There's no ETA on it yet, but this new information apparently gives developers the tools they need to make a custom firmware for the latest official Sony firmware.

Judging by the last time something like this, I'd probably give it about a month until the firmware is released.

That's if it's not bullshit. There's been a lot of hoaxes, but this seems real.

So from this firmware, you'll be able to get free games, will you be able to play them online?

Reduces sales by a significant amount.
Reduces profit margin
Reduces chances for a sequel for some games
reduces chances for some games to get better upgrades (mw fifa fm e.t.c)

That affects everyone.

it is not physically hurting anybody is what I meant and it is only a minor group so these companies will continue to make great games and huge profits!

I believe PC games continue to be made even though it is fucking easy to get games for free. BTW i pay for mine when they become cheap on steam
