David De Gea Empty David De Gea

Post by Guest Sat Sep 10, 2011 2:52 am

As we've seen this guy is abit shakey the past few games.

Is he going to be the top class player United paid for? So far he reminds me of Almunia.

Discuss how he does in this thread so we can see if he does turn out to be class.. or crap.

He will be amazing not worthy

Anyone who watched him at Atletico knows what hes capable of.

We need to judge him at the end of the season.

Thats why he reminds me of him. Good shot stopper but blunder prone.. although he's had a few routine saves go right past him into the net which is worse.

I think he will become world class one day but he has had a shaky start to his UTD career. He is a good shot stopper but he can lack concentration at times and not react fast enough. As he gets older he will get over this.

I think it's the physicality of this hoof ball league. Fabianski is a quality goalkeeper but he had months and months of low confidence and constant mistakes. He was stifled by big defenders and attackers jumping at him, so he made mistakes which led to the low confidence.

I think De Gea will come good eventually, once this phase is over. shifty

I think if United are patient with he'll probably come good.

However, until that happens he could cost them points with the goals he's let in. So far he's got off because the rest of the team has been so good.

His distribution is fantastic and we rely on that with our style of play. Yeah he sometimes makes mistakes but he's still only 20 and hopefully he'll learn from these mistakes...we know he'll make more this season but we should be patient cause I reckon he can be a world class goalkeeper one day.

Give him time, he is only 20, coming to a new league and country, speaks very little English at the moment and has just joined one of the biggest clubs in the world while taking over from one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Of course he's going to be nervous, he obviously has the talent and amazing potential.

Had a shocking start, at least 1 error a match so far, if he doesn't improve dramatically over the next few months he could start costing United points, a big question is how much patience they'll have with him, if he's still like this towards the end of the season I wouldn't be surprised if Mr.Ferguson decides to buy a replacement.

The only reason that stat in DDG's signature is true is that Tottenham decided to have a load of potshots at him.
