I think Scholes is by far and away the better footballer, Gerrard has no ability to control the midfield he is rarely missed when Liverpool play such as when Liverpools world class midfield of Jay 'Gremlin' Spearing, Raul Meireles and Lucas managed to hang on by the skin of their teeth in the midfield against Arsenal.
