He was excellent in Madrid awayRa's al Ghul wrote:I've defended him before when people called him a big game flop, but after what happened last year against Milan and in the two recent Real Madrid games I really do think that he simply isn't capable of coping with the pressure. There's also a pretty clear inversely proportional relationship between his goals to game ratio and the quality of the Premier League which makes me question his ability at the very highest level.

Agreed, he made an excellent miss in that game too.

No doubt that your primitive brain would think that that moment was his only contribution in the game.Theo Filippo wrote:Agreed, he made an excellent miss in that game too.

Excellent? He did an alright job for the most part. No idea how you can say he was excellent, especially when he missed your team's two best chances of the night.

He wasn't "excellent", but he did a good job of holding the ball up. Especially in the first half when all Rooney seemed to be able to do was spray it in his or Kagawa's general direction.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
Hernandez scored a brace for Mexico that the defense and ref squandered away.
His first goal was excellent. Classic Hernandez.
Dat movement.
Also, this tomfoolery.
Hernandez only played 50 minutes. He looked absolutely crushed after the result. He took such a beating from the defenders, it probably made the result hurt even more.

So Hernandez, Rooney, van Persie, Young and Zaha all scored, Powell impressed for the U19s apparently (despite missing a penalty) and Valencia set up 3 goals- all be it against El Salvador. Not too bad.
Kagawa played the full 90 for Japan v Canada too (as did van Persie for Holland).

Except for Hernandez's goals, all those other players scored in games that were terribly mismatched.
I forgot to mention this but he's has now scored more goals for Mexico than historic Real Madrid hitman Hugo Sanchez.
Hernandez has scored 30 goals in 45 appearances for Mexico.

I was going to ask what's his strike rate for Mexico. Who's their all time scorer?

Hey man. Answering these types of questions and adding little tidbits nobody cares about are one of my few joys in life.
Don't take that away from me.
Example:
Jared Borgetti with 46 goals. /Answer
Known as the desert fox he was a bigger poacher than Hernandez. I think it was Kasey Keller (US Golkeeper) that once said playing against Jared Borgetti was like playing against a ghost. It'd feel like he wasn't even there for 60 minutes, but would then pop up from out of nowhere and score on you.
Funnily, I recently read an article that described marking Hernandez was like "marking a ghost" I've take it as a sign that Hernandez is destined to break Borgettt's record.
Actually, now that I look at the list almost everyone on that top 10 list where known as straight up poachers. /tidbit no one cares about.

17 more goals, in the bag.

He's 24 yeas old so unless something catastrophic happens, like a serious injury, I think it really is in the bag.
One thing of note is that non of his goals have come from the likes of Antigua or Belize since Mexico no longer has to play against teams like that.
Also, of note.
La Gazzete dello Sport Calcio named Chicharito's first goal yesterday as one of the best scored during the international break.

You always could count of the Italians to appreciate the finer more subtle beauties of football.

Wish this Valencia would turn up for his. 3 assists last week, and that ruled out!
EDIT: Go from around 1:20.

Nice goal by the cunt.
Would have been nice to see a Swansea player put a body on him, instead of swinging their legs around in the air.
Lol 2-0 in a matter of seconds.

It would be pretty embarrassing if this team of scrappers wins the league again. At least Chelsea and City have some genuinely skilled players.

It will be interesting to see if the 14.0 value of RVP gives you the edge over the other 9-11 valued strikers.

So, genuine thoughts on how Man United will do this season?
I wouldn't be surprised if Moyes was replaced before the end of the season.

Should finish in the top 3. Hope we go back in for Herrera in January, actually knowing what has to be done this time. Wouldn't blame him if he told us to fuck off.
Not the worst start to the season. Clinical v Swansea, issue v Chelsea and Liverpool was just breaking them down. Both were pretty happy to defend what they had. Fellaini's a decent signing but he doesn't really solve that.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
You should but it's very possible that you won't. I think Chelsea is a dead cert for the top 2 but I reckon City, United and Arsenal can finish anywhere in the top 4.
