One of my modules last year had a fair bit of philosophy in and it was difficult as fuck. It's kinda interesting but trying to understand what the fuck some of them are talking about, then having to remember like 5 different guys and what each of them thought about something is pretty confusing.
Must be a pretty bad ratio of difficulty to reward because there are basically no jobs in it too.

Loved Philosophy, I was pretty shit at it though for two reasons, the first of which being that I fucked around with my mate for about 90% of the time, the second being the aforementioned extremely large amount of work required in remembering what all these different cunts have said. I've always been more about ideas and examples than people's names and I loved the ideas - a couple of the theories we looked at like solipsism and the possibility of altruism not existing I'd come up with independently before I'd even been to high school - but I'm far too lazy to be able to remember all the people's names, it just didn't interest me.
Glad I did it though, I picked up a lot from it that applies in other areas, not least Plato's extremely annoying tactic of drawing brilliant analogies that the other person can't argue with despite them still thinking you're wrong and some interesting ways of shooting down religion. I did consider doing a bit more it at Uni but I thought a lot of it would be retreading old ground, I might have been shit at it again and the job prospects are even worse than Politics.

The problem I have is that we do way too many readings, it's unbelievable. I think I would have liked Philosophy more if I took it in high school but back then I thought it was a shit course as well. I only took this Philosophy course because it was the only elective left because I fucked up in my course selection

I feel like pretty much every philosophical thought you have has probably been written down by someone before. I thought of solipsism when I was younger too, I remember asking my parents about it must have been 10-12 something like that.
