Pretty much. Doing Computer science is a 4 year degree in how to turn it on and off again.

Gotta say, Netflix library is pretty terrible. There's some good series that I'll binge on until my free trial ends but the selection of movies is shitty. Amazon instant video looks better

Netflix streaming has always been about TV shows. Movie streaming is pretty limited.

I have both. Netflix is better, but I have Prime mostly for the free 2-day shipping on orders from Amazon.

Good films on Netflix run out pretty quick if you only watch in one region, and it's even worse if it's a bad region like the UK or Canada. If you use a VPN or DSN service you can unlock all the regions and watch so many more films.

Hmm, didn't now that. What regions are there other than USA, Canada, and UK?

I use this site to find good movies because sometimes Netflix's layout sucks...

I prefer Prime's selection of television programmes as well.  The Wire, Vikings, Nathan For You, Flight of the Conchords-all top quality stuff.  It's hard for me to judge fairly though, given I have had Netflix for years and only recently got Prime, so it seems fresher.

Maybe I'm willing to pay $8 a month for legal streaming which provides me with good quality, quick access, and I can play it on multiple devices with ease.

I get that, I have Prime and access to Netflix myself, but TPB has a much larger library and you watch what you download without requiring an internet connection. My S5 with its shit bloatware can already play pretty much anything I put on it while my "cleaner" Nexus 10 with stock android struggles like fuck to play anything.

Ireland, Brazil, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Mexico, Norway, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Luxemburg.

Some places like Brazil and France will differ a reasonable amount in selection but some others won't vary that much beyond replacing regional TV shows/movies like. For example, I don't like Brazil and Mexico differs too much beyond replacing Mexican TV shows for Brazilian ones.

The HBO stuff on Prime makes it more than worth it. Smart move by Amazon to get that agreement, but today I heard HBO is releasing an on demand service that doesn't require a cable subscription and will include all the new stuff that they won't let Amazon have. If the price is right that would be brilliant, but it'll probably be outrageously priced like $15-20.

My University gave me a thousand pounds to thank me for joining them and I wanted a tablet. Foolishly I believed all the bullshit about less bloatware being beneficial and the Nexus being underpriced.

What difference does it really make?  My phone can call, text message, and surf the internet.  What else do people want from a phone?  I'm not trying to be belligerent, I'm genuinely curious.

That's a nice analogy and all, but I don't really spend much time on my phone, certainly nowhere near as much as I do on my computer.
