    What about Gerrard?

He was never captain during the trial now was he?

You said Woodgate set a precedent for England players being unavailable for criminal charges, but Gerrard never was?

Because the FA weren't brave enough to continue the precedent when a key-player was involved. By all rights Gerrard should have been unavailable for selection during his trial as well.

    Not great imo. Laughing

Innocent until proven guilty, just because your charged with something should not mean your treated as though you've been convicted.

Alright, so what happens if we win the Euros and then he gets found guilty? The image going round the world, representing English football to the world, is a racist wanker, the greatest achievement of any England team, and it's represented by a racist thug lifting up a trophy.

RR's probably one who believes we didn't really win the World Cup.

I think he wrote once in a thread on EA that he didn't believe Hurst's ball crossed the line, nor did he believe Lampard's ball did either against Germany.

    Greatest legitimate achievement.

Hurst's 2nd goal didn't cross the line and his 3rd should have been disallowed. Lampard had a shot which appeared to cross the line at 2-1 in South Africa against Germany.

The first one is questionable, the second one is just facepalm if so.

Although, we did play a very poor German side. When Franz Beckenbauer is your best player, you know you are a poor side.

I don't remember saying that Lampard comment, if I did I would have been winding people up though.

    1) I felt that England's goal in Extra Time against Portugal in Euro 2004 was correctly disallowed

    2) I'm still not convinced Lampard's shot actually did cross the line against Germany

Don't flatter yourself. It took me five minutes to scroll through your profile to find it. I just remembered it distinctly because it was a bit ridiculous.

People are fickle, they wont care Id bet, I mean look at Di Canio, no one associates him as a facist or anything they just say he was a great player.

If Terry was found guilty I wouldn't give a shit?

Racist thug? I'm sure Terry isn't saint but both are harsh considering what we actually know of him Laughing

Racist? Probably not. One word facepalm....I can't believe people are overreacting so much. Oh wait....it's a white guy being accused of racism....so I'm not surprised.
Thug? He's a millionaire footballer...he doesn't come across as a thug on the field...and off the field he doesn't either. Bit of a cunt with the Bridge thing but normal people do that.

Its not the first thing that pops into my head about him though, and Im sure if he won anything at West Ham people wouldnt associate the image with a facist lifting up the trophy.

Even if I would agree to that I figure there's a big difference between club and country.

It is the first thing that pops into my mind when I hear his name. When I heard he was taking the Swansea job, for example, my first thought was that it was a brave appointment.

    You mean Swindon....

Can't blame you for the mix up though, Brendan Rodgers is a cunt too.
