GTA 4 had a shite story. Bunch of immigrants I couldn't understand acting as errand boys. Technically it was fantastic, enjoyment wise it sucked.

GTA IV has the best story out of any GTA game.

facepalm I enjoyed the birdseye GTA UK version more. You surely haven't played all the GTA games if you think that GTA IV has the best storyline.

Little Jacob doesn't have much effect on the storyline. Why not mention a character like Ray, Pegorino, Niko, Roman, Dimitri who do have an impact on the story, not Litlle Jacob.

Pip, you've not even finished San Andreas and never even played Vice City (which probably was a genius game in itself). How can you even say that IV was better?

Or is this you sticking to this quirky, eccentric, "I'll go against the popular opinion" character you've created?

When I first played GTA IV, I was blown away. I returned to play on San Andreas later that day and I just could not play it. I turned it off after 5 mnuites. and have only played it twice since.

I admit that the graphics were stunning in GTA IV(although a little too much grey in the colour scheme). But the gameplay and story was far too weak for me, didn't even feel like i was playing a GTA game most of the time.

GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas are classic, pick up and play, arcade like games. GTA IV Wasn't that at all, it felt like more of a chore playing that game.

I am honestly dumbfounded at the opinions some of you have. I thought this of San Andreas, but it sems you all think that of GTA. eek

And it was a chore playing SA because the missions were shit. Even the later ones looked drab.

I agree with the first point, but a game can have shit graphics and be fun to play (Not implementing that SA had shit graphics) but the gameplay was boring, the storyline was weak, the characters sucked (Except for maybe Big Smoke), the map sucked. It was an average game.

It was by far the best map.

You had several different kinds of cities, as well as amazing countryside and a desert too. GTA IV is basically one dull city.

I watched the other missions aswell. I am glad I got stuck at that mission, judging some of those missions. Some of them are just plane ridiculous (I spelt it that way on purpose, becuase of Zero's missions).

Watching missions are completely different to playing them. And Zero's aren't even necessary to the story.

I know that. And I know that too. But I know if I watched a mission on GTA IV, it'd make me want to play that mission, wheras if I did that with SA, it wouldn't inspire me to play it.

The missions had variety. Sure you drive and hoot in almost all of them, but someti9me you may ue a boat or a helicopter to shoot down your prey.
