She was put under a spell? When was this? All I remember is her being in the tower.

Also what was the point of that alien like thing that was in the mines? They haven't mentioned it anymore, just seems random.

She wasn't broken onscreen, so perhaps there's more to it.
That alien was weird, hope it doesn't make another appearance.
