Wow!
Rangers midfielder Matt McKay has been named as Australian Footballer of the Year.
The former Brisbane Roar player, who moved to Scotland in August, was recognised by Football Federation Australia with its main award.
McKay was also named as the Australian PFA's Player of the Year, beating both Brett Holman and Tim Cahill by over 130 votes.
Craig Moore, formerly of Rangers and a team-mate of McKay with the Roar, presented the player with his PFA award.
McKay is currently back in his homeland ahead of a friendly with Malaysia on October 7 and a 2014 World Cup qualifier with Oman four days later.
The 28-year-old didn’t arrive in Scotland until early September, having remained in Australia to take part in other 2014 World Cup qualifying matches.
Three days after his arrival, McKay made his sole appearance to date, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 win at Dundee United.
