I'm not exactly saying it's become the worst thing on television, it's just nowhere near as good as what it used to be. I don't see what new ideas they could bring in either.
That said, it's one of my favourite programmes so I'd be more than happy for them to prove me wrong.

I don't understand the judgement behind this. Why risk alienating your audience by putting in a sub-plot which threatens to upset the dynamic which has worked so well so far? Dexter and Deb form the emotional element in this show, for instance that scene where Deb thanks him for saving her is beautiful. This could prove to be suicidal. The only way I can justify this if it leads directly to Deb finding out about Dexter. Soon.

EDIT: Spark reaction to just seeing the episode, Dexter's writers still have to many 'ugh' moments, how did Dex get to the bottom of the building with harrison and travis with no one noticing? Why did Miami Metro go to a crime scene and just wait outside (and not see the dexter/devil mural) come on man.

He used the lift before they realised shit had gone down there, and they waited outside to avoid contaminating the scene.

Just watched the last episode and I thought it was a pretty poor finale except for the last 4 minutes, they made it a bit too obvious what was going to happen.
It will be interesting to see which route they take next season but it's a bit shit that we have to wait 10-11 months to find out.

Fairly sure there was a thread for her on the old Babe section.
Basically most other shows are just for passing the time waiting for Dexter for me, have read 4 of the books now as well enjoy both very much, they are different which is nice.
