That's shocking. You can accept that these incidents will sometimes occur as it's a contact sport, but that's just reckless and careless. A ban will surely be coming his way.

Look how high that Tranmere guy's leg is. What a twat.

should get a one year ban from the game imo

    One? Neutral

He should be jailed if he doesn't fully recovered.

I doubt he meant to hurt the lad, he must be just a fairly brainless player. One year ban be would sufficient and a large fine.

What? You can't jail or ban someone due to a sporting accident, unless he intentionally snapped his neck.

I don't think the Tranmere player kicked him, he went for the ball, Bender collided with the 'keeper.

Jail would be too far. The challenge was reckless, but I don't think he intended to hurt the lad.

Something like a 5-7 match ban would be sufficient imo.

Why are people talking like they seen it anyway when they have only seen one picture?

Why not just a 3 match ban - it's a straight red card, and it was un intentional? You wouldn't get more than 3 for breaking someones leg?

Yeah he should've kept it lower, but these things can happen in football. Just unfortunate that he caught the boy the way he did. On most occasions, players would get away without hurting anyone in a high boot.

Broken leg can stop you walking for a while, where as broken neck stop's you sitting up for a while. big difference

Very good point actually. Maybe a 3 match ban would be sufficient then.

You really think the extent of a broken neck is stopping you sitting up for a while? Most people are lucky to survive a broken neck.

It looked like he crashed into the keeper, then the Tranmere guy went into him. It certainly looks like he's lunged.

To be fair, if I went up to someone in the street in the same manner as Dunbavin and broke a guys neck I'd be expecting the police to get involved.

You wouldn't be doing that unintentionally while playing a contact sport though, would you?
