    so what is the next tiebreaker?? Empty so what is the next tiebreaker??

    If Manchester City scored one more goal today the table would look like this;

    Manchester United 6-1-0 GF 24 GA 5 +19 19 PTS

    Manchester City 6-1-0 GF 24 GA 5 +19 19 PTS

    Are of the tiebreakers I know of would be tied so what would be the next tiebreaker? What would happen somehow if the season would end with a situation like this.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League#Competition_format

    Competition

    There are 20 clubs in the Premier League. During the course of a season (from August to May) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 38 games. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points, then goal difference, and then goals scored. At the end of each season, the club with the most points is crowned champion. If points are equal, the goal difference and then goals scored determine the winner. If still equal, teams are deemed to occupy the same position. If there is a tie for the championship, for relegation, or for qualification to other competitions, a play-off match at a neutral venue decides rank. The three lowest placed teams are relegated into the Football League Championship, and the top two teams from the Championship, together with the winner of play-offs involving the third to sixth placed Championship clubs, are promoted in their place.

    Playoff.

    Nice, at the rate United and City are going I think this as crazy as it sounds is possible this season.

    It's extremely unlikely, the title hasn't even been decided on GD for over 20 years - it's not happened for any qualification position either (ie. 16th/17th, 8th/7th depending on the year, 5th/4th, 4th/3rd) in the Premier League at least.

    If it's not for the title or for relegation or qualification though, the position is held jointly.

    True that is a good point as this has last happened in the 1988/89 season, but I am not sure who all could beat United or City at their current form.

    I doubt the two games between United and City will end with the exact same result.

    I'd wager a pretty large amount of money that the two teams won't finish even even on points, let alone GD, and the whole thing finishing dead even is so unlikely it shouldn't even be considered. Even if the two teams were exact equals, in every position on the pitch, luck would play a sufficient role to separate them 99 times out of 100

    Lettuce be reality, City will win the league, and by points, Chelsea will come second.

    I guess things could be worse here if this somehow happened. Back in the day FIFA used a coin flip as the very last tiebreaker.

    It wouldn't have been the first time I've lost a bet. They were nowhere near dead even in the end, as predicted with a great deal of certainty by me.
