Luke, the defensive system isn't bad your just not good enough. Its simple you don't have to try dive in every time the opposition has the ball just control your player sit back and get AI pressure from your team in and you will eventually force them into somewhere they don't want with the ball or somewhere they will lose the ball quickly.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the defending on FIFA12, it's just a tad difficult online. It's definitely more authentic though. 2-1-3 is my record online so far
