Liechtenstein Cup thread

It is that time of year again and I am here to help follow the Liechtenstein Cup!

The Liechtenstein Football Cup is Liechtenstein's premier football competition, and has been organised annually by the Liechtenstein Football Association (LFV) since 1946. The winner qualifies to take part in the UEFA Europa League.

As there is no national league in Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein Football Cup is the only national football competition in the country. The country only has seven national clubs all of which historically have already established themselves in the Swiss league competitions. The national cup competition is the only route for Liechtenstein to be represented at the European football club competitions.^[1]

First round

FC Ruggell II 1-2 USV Echen/Mauren II
USV Echen/Mauren III 0-1 FC Triesen
FC Trisenberg II 4-0 FC Balzers III
FC Vaduz II 2-2 (6-7 p) FC Triesen II

2nd Round

USV Echen/Mauren II 3-2 FC Balzers II
FC Ruggell 1-2 FC Schaan
FC Triesen 4-2 FC Schaan Azzurri
FC Triesenberg II 0-3 FC Triesen II

Quarterfinals; FC Vaduz, USV Eschen/Maursen, FC Balzers, and FC Trisenberg will join the 2nd round winners at this point.

I am fancying Vaduz this year. They are looking very strong up front.

Joke of a league, their best team is Vaduz and they're playing in Swiss 2nd div because they're too strong, similar to Cardiff/formerly Swansea.

Liechtenstein is a shit country anyway

FC Vaduz has made the best possible start to the Liechtenstein Cup defeating FC Triesen II 0-17. This advances them to the semifinals and they must wait for the remaining games to be played to find out who they will get to play next.

I would not call that a farce, more like getting revenge for Triesen II knocking out Vaduz's reserve side in the first round.

Yeah but Vaduz should play in the Swiss Cup, it's not like they're a good team but the rest of Liechtenstein are beyond awful, it's obvious Vaduz will win this

Everyone knows they will win this cup as they have won it 14 years in a row. I believe in Liechtenstein their are only 7 teams in total (plus reserve sides) so it would be hard to have a cup without Vaduz. Also the free trip to Europe must be nice and probably brings in decent revenue which would not happen if they were playing in the Swiss Cup.

Well FC Triesen are in the 7th tier over there which did not help things out at all.
