Anyone here a fan of them?
Just 'got' their new album - Nightmare. Pretty good.

Of course it's down to opinion. But after the first two albums, they sold out IMO, I hate it when metal bands sell out.AD_LFC wrote:ayvee1 wrote:I like Sounding The Seventh Trumpet and Waking The Fallen, but after that they went downhill.
That is pretty much down to opinion. I didn't really like the first two all that much.

That's exactly what it means to the original fans. When a band sells out, they start putting out more mainstream music to attract more fans and sell more records, and in doing so they alienate their original fanbase, trading hardcore fans for a quick dollar.AD_LFC wrote:ayvee1 wrote:Of course it's down to opinion. Why? I've never understood that way of thinking. It doesn't mean the band isn't putting out good stuff anymore.

It's happened to many bands down the line; Trivium, Atreyu, Still Remains, Lamb Of God (although I can't decide if they sold out or they just got rubbish), Papa Roach, Linkin Park etc.

City Of Evil was sort of the turning point for me, I like some aspects of that album, but it set the precedent for the sort of music they put out now, which I personally don't enjoy.AD_LFC wrote:ayvee1 wrote:That's exactly what it means to the original fans. So you didn't like City of Evil at all? I know that alot of people didn't like their self-titled album though.
