Yeah, but Fabianski is Fabianski I'll not get carried away by his performances over 2-3 matches.BigSam@EwoodPark wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Why couldn't it be Fabianski for goodness sake.
He has played well the last couple of games.

We got a replacement for Duke whos made a few mistakes this season. Looks like we are friends with Arsenal again. Simpson and now Mannone. Fancy chucking us a good striker now though?
Where the hell is Simpson playing then?
On topic, nice capture, should do well for you if he replaces your #1.
He was on the bench on Saturday. He hasn't been doing too well. No movement, no effort from the looks of it. The only saving grace is that we apparently paid 50k up front for him. Another 250k after 20 appearances and then 500k if we get promoted while he is with us to bring the fee to 800k.

Well maybe these performances will give him the confidence to show the talents that Wenger believes that he has. Got to give him credit.

It's not even really to do with his performance, it's the fact that he's been given countless chances to prove himself where he's failed significantly in the past and Mannone just had one bad performance against West Ham and didn't get used again is what bothers me. I'm happy he's in good form as of now, but I certainly wouldn't get carried away.BigSam@EwoodPark wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Yeah, but Fabianski is Fabianski I'll not get carried away by his performances over 2-3 matches.BigSam@EwoodPark wrote:19Jones19v wrote:Why couldn't it be Fabianski for goodness sake.

Compare that performance and that mistake to Almunia and Fabianski.kyro7 wrote:If I remember correctly, he played away to Fulham last season in a 1-0 Arsenal win, and he was absolutely brilliant, on the other hand, away to West Ham he palmed a shot back into the path of Carlton Cole, and it finished 2-2, or something like that..
He has ability, he could be a great keeper.
Neither of them have ever had such a performance, both have made alot worse and far more mistakes.
What a joke it is he's gone on loan.

I'd love Lansbury to come to you, I think after one more season on loan he'll be able to come back and bring something to Arsenal.

Me neither, I expect we'll sign him permanently at the end of this season tbh.

I think it'd be a good signing for you, he has lots of potential. If you look around the leagues and see how many players have came from Arsenal it's amazing. Even Neil Kilkenny

I dont think Mannone will stay with us long because when he comes back to us I dont think he will get many, if any first team matches so I expect him to be sold by next season or the season after that because I really dont think Wenger will give him the opportunity's again unless we have an injury problem to the other keepers.

Maybe he will. Looks quite possible but I think Fabianski is turning into a fine keeper for us. Hopefully he keeps up this form.

For those slating Fabianski in this thread...
Remember How crap Almunia is, Remember Szczesny is only tested in LEAGUE 1, and remember Mannone is equally crap as well as shown here:
Fabianski is probably the best keeper at the club at the moment, and he has been doing well.
ALSO, remember how I said Fabianski will be Arsenal's #1 over the last 2-3 years?
well....
I TOOOLD YOU SO!

How can you say Mannone is crap because he made 1 mistake ? May I remind you how many Mistakes Fabianski made during his confidence failures ?
I mean yes I would agree he seems to be our best keeper at the club at the moment (never taught I would say that). But a bit harsh on Mannone dont you think ?.

Mannone made 3 horrid mistakes in a game.
Mannone there was worse than Fabianski's worse at Arsenal IMO.
My point is that Mannone isn't as good as people think he is, alot of people got the idea he is the only normal, mentally stable, semi-consistent and less mistake prone out of all our bunch, my point is that he isn't. He is as crap as the rest of our goalkeepers are ATM.
He can still improve though, yes.
I think Fabianski's problems were that he couldn't play often enough, only sporadically, and that isn't good for building up form and whatnot. After a couple sporadic appearances, he started getting confident issues and started making mistakes.
Now Almunia is "Injured" (I think it's Arsenal's ploy to give Fabianski a chance without dropping him, when Fabianski makes a serious mistake two games in a row, Almunia's injury will vanish.) Fabianski is given a chance to play regularly and consistently, and is given the chance to step up his game and gain form, and sooner hopefully than later, Fabianski will start showing the class keeper he was at Legia Warszawa.
In other words, things are happening EXACTLY as I said in the last 2-3 years of being laughed at in my confidence in Fabianski.

Yes he is. Open your eyes.
Wenger dropped Almunia for him, Almunia's injury is just convenient if it's even true. I got the feeling Almunia will be injured for as long as Fabianski doesn't screw up.

No he did not.
Almunia actually got injured if you watch the penalty save I doubt he is going to say he is injured for the rest of the season is he ?

Open my eyes? To what, a blatent injury that half the world saw happen.
As grenade said, the penalty showed the injury to Almunia.
I do, at a certain degree, believe you could be on to something but I highly doubt Almunia is going to fake the injury for a long period of time if Fabianski dosen't make another huge blunder.

I really rate Kilkenny His passing is superb, only problem is he is a bit lightweight to be playing in his current position (deep midfield, fuck knows why).

It's just mad that people say Arsenal don't bring enough English players through especially Jamie Redknapp There is so many British players around the Football League that have came through Arsenals academy, if they're not good enough for Arsenal that's not Wengers fault.

I agree completely, although it's easy to understand why people who don't actually follow the game much say it (which tbf should mean they say nothing at all). It's good that you finally have 3 players who look good enough for you though, as it'll have an effect on the way the national team play.
