Not worse than Pires and Henry's penalty against City.

Hard to beat former Hibs striker Mixu Paatelainen chipping one over the bar in the last minute vs Hearts

Re: Worst PK ever???
I had a feeling this would be posted. Amir Sayoud could have possibly ruined his career with Ahly with that penalty. He is a great young talent, but he hasn't been getting much playing time under Manuel Jose. Jose was pissed at him on the sideline after he did that.

Were you winning, or losing, 4-0 at the time?ahlycotc wrote:I had a feeling this would be posted. Amir Sayoud could have possibly ruined his career with Ahly with that penalty. We won 4-0. It was our first game of the Egyptian Cup against a third division side. We had rested half of our squad for that game.

I think he kicked the grass by accident?
The ref basically yellow carded him for mis-kicking the ball.

Fake penalties are now banned by FIFA (since 2010 WC). He got a yellow card for unsporting behavior.

Interesting rule as I have not seen yellow cards for something like that at all. Has anyone seen this situation occur (fake penalties) in any of the top European leagues? Does that include pausing for a second or so before you strike the ball? If that is the case someone like C. Ronaldo and a few others should probably be carded every single time they take a penalty.

That's more hesitating. This is when you actually do a complete fake.Weather130 wrote:ahlycotc wrote:

Ah ok. So that means under this rule Pires and Henry would have got a yellow carded but nothing would happen to C. Ronaldo or anyone who makes a quick pause in action?

Pires touched the ball, so he wouldn't have been booked.

Like I said, the rule changed after the 2010 WC. The last time I saw Ronaldo and the others doing fake penalties and stops in their runs was before the rule was changed.

Re: Worst PK ever???
Ahli boss Manuel Jose explained why he opted not to discipline Amir Sayoud for his penalty fail in the recent 4-0 win over Kima Aswan.
Sayoud almost spoiled Ahli’s victory with a moment of awkwardness when he unsuccessfully tried to trick the opposition keeper, only for him to spurn the spot kick in bizarre fashion.
Even though the match was virtually over with the score 4-0, Jose appeared to be fuming on the touchline, before eventually deciding that the embarrassment of the incident was enough for the Algerian starlet.
“I’ve spoken to Sayoud a lot about what happened,” Jose told reporters ahead of Ahli’s Champions League trip to Wydad Casablanca.
“But I think the mockery he was subjected to through local and international media during the past couple of days was enough, that’s why I decided not to punish him.”
Sayoud is believed to be unhappy with his lack of first-team football at Ahli, even though Jose spoke of his admiration to the 20-year-old’s talent on several occasions.
The former ES Setif youngster, who has been overlooked in Ahli Champions League roster, was loan-listed this summer in an attempt to offer him some playing time.

I've heard that you have to at least keep moving forward when taking a penalty.

Amir Sayoud is now on loan to Ismaily. He was given a chance to redeem himself during training.
