Nigel Pearson is a better manager than both McClaren and Sven GE;

McClaren

1. Needs loads of cash (see Middlesborough history)
2. Inability to see loan options as part of a management strategy
3. Ready to quit when going gets slightly tough.

Sven

1. Entirely reliant on ready made talent
2. Unable to develop potential and talent in young players
3. Needs loads of cash
4. Will leave behind an agony set of players with no sell on value, a
massive wage bill and no young talent coming through (Sound Familiar?)


Nigel Pearson

1. Doesn't moan when inheriting old, disinterested, over paid players and no talent
2. Turns last season around with next to no investment
3. Intelligently used loan signings
4. Believes in young talent and ready to develop kids
5. Establishing a manageable wage structure
6. Establishing a talent pool

He may have won things in the past, but his most recent jobs have proven he isn't anywhere near as good as he used to be.

Agree completely. Sven and Shteve have been very lucky with their managerial positions, Sir Nigel has had success at clubs without the big facilities or budgets.

You make some good points there and I agree.

Sven in particular is a manager who I think is overrated because of his journeyman status by many people. He is a good manager, but he's far from being a brilliant one.
