'Yet if there is one statistic, beyond the scoreline, that reflects the depth of the crisis at Arsenal, it is that both starting line-ups had the same average age, 23. Arsenal are still planning for some mythical future; at Manchester United the future is now. Wenger kept referring to the eight players he had missing but how many of these absentees would have warranted a place in Manchester United's team?
Thinking about it, Sagna, Vermaelen, Song and Wilshere could have all started for that United team that played.
Sagna could have done, Vermaelen might ahead of Evans the other two wouldn't. Only Sagna would start for us if everyone is fit, Vermaelen wouldn't make the bench.
Going to ignore you when it comes to Vermaelen because it's becoming annoying.
But yeah I agree with the bold bit. Song and Wilshere could have started over Cleverly and Anderson imo, but i'm guessing most of you will disagree seeing as the United two are in form atm and our two have barely played.
