Demonoid is a good site, need to be invited though I think.

You're not forced to upload but most people do and you usually get more seeds and less leaches than on Piratebay.

Torrents suck. Usenet FTW. SSL encrypted and faster downloads. A lot less prone to viruses than file sharing too.

I recommend getting a block from blocknews.net. You basically buy a block for a set amount in GB, it never runs out, has huge retention and high connection speeds, and is SSL encrypted.

I just bought a 500GB block for about £27 which will probably last 9-10 months (downloading 50-60gb per month). I get the files from NZBmatrix.com and download with Grabit.

Its way better than torrents.

Well most ISPs have their own Newsgroup included with their package. They're often quiete limited though.
